Thursday Evening Prayer & Eegee’s!
Once again, join this Thursday, August 28 at 6 pm for a welcome back meal provided by Eegee's and an Evening Prayer service at 7 pm at Faith Lutheran Church (3925 E. 5th St.).
We will be focusing on the Commemoration of Augustine of Hippo, Pastor and Theologian (354-430 after having a local treat. If you don't know what an Eegee is, or haven't one, don't feel bad, Augustine had never even heard of them before either!?! And he was one of the greatest thinkers of Western thought.
Here are a few great quotes from Augustine to whet your appetite:
"Take care of your body as if you were going to live forever; and take care of your soul as if you were going to die tomorrow."
"The truth is like a lion; you don’t have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
"Hope has two beautiful daughters; their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are."
"The greatest kindness one can render to any man is leading him to truth."
"He who has God has everything; he who has everything but God has nothing."
"Because God has made us for Himself, our hearts are restless until they rest in Him."
This will be a great chance to get connected, reunite, and for you new students to get acclimated! Plus, we will have candles and Jesus! Need I say more! If you need a ride, please reach out to us, and one of us or one of the other students can pick you up.
NOTE: A 5th St. construction project is ongoing through late 2026. It spans from Tucson Blvd. to Wilmot Rd. At present, Faith is directly affected. Please give yourself a few extra minutes to navigate around things as you make into the parking lot.
